Screens

Screens are probably the most important fireplace accessories. A screens main function is to protect flying sparks from escaping into the room. A fireplace screen is also a decorative focal point. It should typically match the toolset and andirons.

Screens can be either freestanding or attached as in a glass enclosure or recessed screen. Please have your measurements in order that we may fit your fireplace opening.

Glass Enclosures

Glass enclosures/doors are not only functional from a safety standpoint, they also enable a person to close the doors and retire in the evening with the damper open and not loose all the heat from the house. Grates and Grills has over 2000 doors in stock to choose from.

Freestanding

Grates and Grills has over 1000 freestanding screens in stock. Freestanding screens are available in a variety of styles, finishes and sizes. As a rule of thumb a freestanding screen should be at least one inch higher and two inches wider than the fireplace opening.

There are three main categories of these screens: sparkguards, flat, and three-folding. Each is available as either arched or rectangular; again in a variety of styles.
